European container transport beyond standard routes
Picking up a container on time is one thing. Organising the transport correctly, regardless of where the container is located or where it needs to go, requires experience. PLS coordinates international container transport across Europe, from terminal trucking and import containers to cross-trade movements between two foreign locations.
From the Port of Antwerp, we organise daily container transport within Belgium and across Europe. We also coordinate movements between foreign ports, terminals and final destinations without Belgium being part of the route. Our experience with international container logistics, ferry connections and port procedures allows us to handle routes that fall outside standard trucking patterns.
Whether you need transport for one container, several container movements per day or a last-minute pickup, we coordinate the complete transport planning. We align trucking, terminals, customs and additional logistics services where required, keeping your container flow on schedule.

Container transport for complex routes
Not every container movement follows a standard route. Deliveries to Southern Europe, ferry connections, multiple containers within one project or a combination of transport, customs and port operations require closer coordination.
PLS is regularly contacted for container transport where flexibility and quick decision-making are essential. We organise individual container movements as well as projects where several containers must be collected or delivered according to a fixed schedule. Through our transport network, we can also arrange capacity for less common routes and destinations.
Knowledge of port procedures and container logistics
Picking up a container requires more than an available truck. Transport planning must take terminal procedures, releases, inspections and available time slots into account.
With extensive operational knowledge of the Port of Antwerp, we coordinate container transport where port procedures directly affect the planning. We have experience with terminal pickups, FASFC inspections, customs procedures and containers selected for additional controls. This allows us to react quickly when a shipment no longer follows the original transport schedule.
When do companies choose PLS?
Many container transports follow a fixed planning. Once a route or shipment falls outside the standard process, close coordination becomes more important.
PLS is regularly contacted for last-minute container pickups, international routes, ferry transport to the United Kingdom, cross-trade container transport and project logistics involving several container movements at the same time. We also handle shipments where customs formalities, FASFC inspections or additional logistics services form part of the transport.
By coordinating transport, port procedures and logistics follow-up, we reduce unnecessary delays and give you one point of contact for the complete container movement.
