Yes. Switzerland is not part of the European Union, so import and export customs formalities are required. PLS supports the preparation of the documentation and coordinates the customs process for shipments to and from Switzerland when the transport is organised by PLS.

The required customs documents depend on the destination and the type of goods. In most cases, a commercial invoice, packing list and HS codes form the basis of the customs file. Certain products may require additional documents or attestations. PLS checks the available documentation before departure and coordinates any missing information.

A T1 document is used when non-Union goods are transported under customs supervision within the European Union without immediately paying import duties. For example, goods may arrive through a Belgian port and continue under customs transit to another destination. PLS coordinates the T1 document as part of the transport we organise.

A CHED (Common Health Entry Document) is required for certain food products, products of animal origin, plants and other goods entering the European Union that are subject to sanitary or phytosanitary controls. PLS coordinates the required documentation and procedures as part of your transport so the goods can be correctly presented for inspection and further release.
