Exceptional transport of two silos from Poland to Belgium

In March 2026, we transported two horizontal silos from Poland to Belgium. Each silo measured 13.05 m long, 2.70 m wide and 2.95 m high, weighing 11 tonnes per unit. Each one travelled on its own semi-low loader, so two trucks in total.

The challenge

At 2.70 m wide, the silos exceeded the legal limit of 2.55 m, which made this an exceptional transport. With a height of almost 3 m, a low deck was also needed to stay under the maximum total height of 4 m. And since a round silo has no flat contact surface, the load had to stay stable over the full distance.

Our approach

We used two semi-low loaders. This kept each silo low enough and well supported on the trailer. The silos rested on steel saddles and were secured with lashing straps and steel tension bands around the shell. Both trucks were planned together, from loading in Poland to unloading in Belgium.

The result

Both silos arrived at their destination on time and without damage.
